  • Overview


    Directs and coordinates activities of workers engaged in conducting credit investigations and collecting delinquent accounts of customers by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.




    • Oversees the efficient operation of the collection floor
    • Responsible for building and maintaining a capable and well-trained staff of employees
    • Recommends the number of employees for proper staffing
    • Oversees the indoctrination of new employees
    • Administers special collection training programs
    • Interviews and selects new employees
    • Ensures compliance with all specified FDCPA, state and city laws and provisions, as outlined in the GC Services Compliance with FDCPA and State Collection Laws Statement, the Collection Excellence Program and the Compliance Test
    • Maintains the discipline of employees on the floor; supervises the proper application of GCS policies and procedures
    • Prepares work schedules for the NSC
    • Reviews deficiencies with Trainer or Assistant Manager to determine the employee’s progress
    • Assists with administrative functions, office planning, file assignments, setting collection goals, and expense control
    • Reviews productivity for all Collectors with the respective Assistant Manager
    • Recommends salary increases and other changes in employee’s status to the NSC Manager
    • Works with other functional areas to coordinate cooperation between the collection floor and those areas
    • Assists in handling special projects
    • Assists in the training and development of all NSC management personnel
    • Maintains collection aids to ensure they are current, and are being administered properly within GCS guidelines at all times
    • Maintains good public relations
    • Cope with high-stress environment caused by speaking with emotional callers
    • Maintain concentration and focus in order to meet performance goals
    • React positively to an ongoing, changing environment
    • Demonstrate the ability to handle pressure when attempting to meet deadlines and performance goals
    • Maintain good working relationship with assigned supervisors and coworkers
    • Work safely without presenting a threat to self or others
    • Perform additional duties as required by management





    Three (3) years of management experience in a call center environment is preferred



    High School Diploma or GED is required


    Computer Experience:


    Must be able to type quickly and accurately, use a mouse effectively, and have a basic understanding of Windows-based operating systems.

    • Demonstrate ability to satisfactorily monitor collection results and to analyze these results in relationship to collection methods
    • Demonstrate above average ability to determine collection problems and to find solutions to ensure productivity

    • Must demonstrate a better than average ability to recruit, interview, and hire capable employees and have the ability to satisfactorily train and develop personnel.
