Overview

Collects on delinquent accounts of customers while providing quality customer service on inbound and outbound calls, while training for future consideration for collection management positions.

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming and outgoing telephone calls
  • Provide a variety of potential solutions for the caller
  • Handle all customer calls, despite degree of difficulty, in a courteous and business-like manner
  • Resolve customer matters in a manner that is within client and legal guidelines
  • Respond constructively to the frequent monitoring of calls and feedback necessary to ensure performance and compliance
  • Input notations in computer and system as necessary Comply with legal, client, and Company requirements regarding the FDCPA and other applicable laws
  • Cope with high-stress environment caused by speaking with emotional callers
  • Meet minimum assigned budget on a monthly basis
  • Completes the management training assignments in a timely manner
  • Aids in assisting with management duties such as phone and file reviews for other employees
  • Trains on how to complete management duties through management training 
  • Reviews accounts for completed work requirements; recommends for cancellation
  • Adhere to Company attendance, punctuality, and meal and rest break requirements
  • Maintain concentration and focus in order to meet performance goals
  • React positively to an ongoing, changing environment
  • Demonstrate the ability to handle pressure when attempting to meet deadlines and performance goals
  • Maintain good working relationship with assigned supervisors and coworkers
  • Work safely without presenting a threat to self or others
  • Perform additional duties as required by management

Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma or GED is required

 

Experience:

3 months of collections experience or 1 year of customer service experience. A minimum of 1 year previous management experience for external candidates preferred.

 

Computer Experience:

Must be able to type quickly and accurately, use a mouse effectively, and have a basic understanding of Windows-based operating systems.

 

Skills & Abilities:

  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is preferred
  • Communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing
